The Young Readers Choice Award (YRCA) program continues to change and grow to attract new supporters and participants.

The Pacific Northwest Library Association (PNLA) supports YRCA becoming a 21st-century reading program that will sustain current participation and expand to a new readership and participating libraries.

Evergreen Teen Book Award

The Evergreen Teen Book Award is a readers choice book award voted on by Washington teens in grades 6 through 12 from a list compiled by Washington Young Adult Review Group librarians.

The Washington State Young Adult Review Group (WASHYARG) is a regional organization of school and public librarians and other individuals interested in reviewing books, magazines and other media appropriate for teenagers. The organization sponsors the Evergreen Teen Book Award, and members of the committee are part of WASHYARG.

Did you know your Student ID works as a library card?  Use it to borrow books, audiobooks, and eBooks from your public library.

You can check out up to four items at a time using your ConnectED account. Those items can be books, magazines, audiobooks, and graphic novels. You can also access all of our digital content including eBooks and eAudiobooks. All books and audiobooks can be returned to any public library book return in Whatcom County, including some at area schools (see here for specific locations.).

How to log in to WCLS using ConnectED:

  1. Visit the Whatcom County Library System website.

  2. In the top right-hand corner, click on Log In / My WCLS to log in to the library website.

    • Your username is MB + 6-digit student lunch number.

    • Your PIN is 1234.
